The little bags/pouches that you see on this blog are inspired by the rage that is going through Japan now that favours a mix of the French countryside combined with the unique Japanese inclination towards tiny and obsessively exquisite details and the Zen pared-down simplicity of a gentile and gracious lifestyle.
The focus is on the beauty and joy of the little things in life, the subtle shades of pastels juxtaposed with the occasional rich sparks of colours. The overall look and feel is HAPPY, BRIGHT and yet GENTLE and SOFT/COSY/COMFORTING.
Most of all, the items created are meant to open up that little joyful corner in your heart and make you smile when you see, feel, touch and use them.
Note that the items on this blog are not commercially available in the market as these are 100% handmade items.
You will never be able to find the same design anywhere else in the world as these are all designed/personally created by a sewing/craft “fanatic”.
Most of the items are produced as craftwork/art pieces. Hence very often, not more than 2 of the same items are produced at any one time.
For the easier- to-create items, a MAXIMUM of 4 pieces of the same item may be produced. And even then, there will still be slight variations in each and every item, e.g. the lining fabric, zipper, buttons etc. We are sure folks who purchase these creations actually appreciate the slight variations too !
The fabrics are also not available locally as these are sourced overseas (from Japan, Switerland and France). Only high quality 100% grade cotton/cotton muslin/cotton silk fabrics are used. There are 5 different categories :
Other details : With the exception of fabrics which are laminated, most of the items are quilted or batting-lined . All items are lined with either flannel/felt/cotton muslin/pure cotton cloth so that the items feel soft, gentle and comfortable to touch and use. Often times, the lining inside with the fabric outside so that there is a “tale” behind every item. High grade quality zippers are used. Very fine stitching on every item.
